• Darren Brown

  - Manager/ Partner

  

  From an early age Darren was destined to become part of the family business. After leaving school in 1984 at 18, he went straight into the management of the Rugby depot, later moving to manage Alcester when it opened in 1991. Married with two children and a regular caravanner himself, Darren is keen to promote the ethos of “treating others exactly how you wish to be treated yourself” which he sees as a winning formula.

• Sue Crookson

  - Assistant Manager

  

  Sue joined BLA in the accessory store in 1998 and within six months moved to reception in an administrative role. Her talents soon became apparent and in 2002 she was promoted to Assistant Manager. All departments including sales, awnings, accessories, service and accounts, report to Sue while two of her three children also work at  BLA, Tanya in Awnings and Tom in the Accessory Store.

• Ian Pritchard

  - Sales Manager

  

  Ian’s jobs have always involved hard work - first as a butcher, then as a fireman and now as BLA’s Sales Manager. A member of the family and affectionately known by everyone as “Uncle E”, his down-to-earth and honest approach generates many satisfied customers who come back to buy caravans and motorhomes year after year. Ian is married to Sheila and has worked in the caravan industry with the Brown family since day one in 1971.

• Nigel Harris

  - Business Manager

  

  After 19 years in the financial services industry, Nigel became a welcome and vibrant member of the BLA team in 2003. As Business Manager, he is responsible for finance, insurance, warranty and customer administration as well as being charged with ensuring all aspects of the FSA requirements are adhered to. A very keen caravanner and married to Justine with two young sons, life is always exciting for Nig.

• Alan Gladwin

  - Sales

  Originally a time-served apprentice carpenter, Alan joined BT where he worked his way up to Workshop Supervisor before taking early retirement in the early 1990s. Not one for standing still, he joined the leisure industry at Birches of Wythall and finally joined BLA in 1994. After many successful and enjoyable years in our Service Centre he was encouraged (by having his arm twisted by Darren) to become a permanent member of the Sales Team in 2003. Once again from caravanning stock, Alan is married with two children and four grandchildren.

• Alan Ward

  - Sales

  Originally from an engineering background, Alan made a massive career change step to become part of the Sales team at BLA in 2004. A genuinely affable and likeable soul Alan will never let you down. A keen caravanner, Alan is married with two sons and a daughter.

• Steve Jones

  - Awning Sales

  

  Steve managed to use his selling skills on Partner Darren Brown to convince him that he was the right man to fill their vacancy in the Alcester Sales department. After spending 12 months in the caravan section he has now taken on the responsibility of heading up our Awning Department, with responsibility for all things to do with canvas at Braod Lane ~ Alcester. • Peter Webb

  - Accessory Department

  

  Having spent years in the jewellery trade and running part of his own family business, Peter finally retired from his stock in trade to head-up the very busy Accessory Store at BLA. A quiet man with a happy disposition, Pete has never caravanned before but was a keen “boater” in his early years. Pete is married with four boys, three of which have worked alongside their father in the shop over the years.
